Typedia

Although I’m not a graphic designer, I’m a bit of a typography geek. I have nowhere near the expertise that Joanne has (she can identify most fonts you put in front of her), but I get a thrill from a finely crafted font that has been used well.

Typedia is a wiki-style site about typefaces, but the people who founded Typedia can probably do a better job of describing the site than I can:

In a nutshell, Typedia is a community website to classify typefaces and educate people about them. Think of it like a mix between IMDb and Wikipedia, but just for type. Anyone can join, add, and edit pages for typefaces or for the people behind the type.

I expect I’ll be using Typedia fairly regularly to discover new typefaces and to learn more about those that I’m already familiar with.
