Microsoft and SVG? In the same room?

Yesterday, Sam Ruby reported that Microsoft is sponsoring SVG Open. I had to read his very short post several times to make sure I’d read it right.
I have no idea if this means that we’ll no longer need to use workarounds like SVG Web or chameleon files to get Internet Explorer to support SVG. At the very least it means that Microsoft recognizes that SVG exists. Who knows? It might even mean an end to the IE team ignoring every question that gets posted about SVG to the IE blog.

Even if IE 9 supports SVG (let’s cross our fingers!) that still leaves a huge installed base of older IE versions requiring SVG Web.
Best,
Brad

Hi Brad,
Agreed.
I’m was just getting (a bit over-) excited to see Microsoft acknowledging that SVG exists.
By the way, thanks for the work you guys have done on SVG Web. It’s absolutely brilliant.
