Nostalgia
It appears that this morning is a time for nostalgia. First, Mike emails me several links to Twang Twang Shock-a-Boom reunion gigs back in Austin. He's also blogged about it. His post pretty much sums up the wave of nostalgia that washed over me as I listened to (and sang along with) these videos. Twang wasn't really musically ground-breaking in a any way. They were just three guys that got together, made some really fun music and decided to share it with the world. Well, with Austin. I'm not sure if anyone who wasn't living in Austin at the time will have heard of them. The music still makes me smile, just like it did the first time I saw them on the West Mall at UT.
As if that weren't enough, Brittni, a good friend of mine from high school, found me on facebook. She was one of the core Hellions, as we liked to call ourselves.
Like Mike, I'm suddenly transported back to places like The Cannibal Club, Magnolia Cafe and Twin Falls. I really do miss Austin sometimes. I'm can feel the craving for a black bean taco coming on. It's a good thing we've already made plans to go to Taqueria for lunch.
