Shutdown Day
For those of you who don't already know, this coming Saturday has been declared Shutdown Day. As many of you know, I spend far too much time in front of a computer. And computers are pretty energy intensive. I suspect, though I haven't confirmed this, that my computer usage probably consumes more energy than my daily travels to and from work.
And so, I will join over 10,000 other people to see if I can survive for a day without my computer. No email, no blogging, no Google reader. Whatever will I do? I haven't decided yet. I'm hoping the weather will cooperate so I can spend the day outside looking at birds and trees. Or in the garden planting the seeds that Joanne just bought from Pennard Plants. Otherwise, I'm going to be spending the day at a museum or reading a good book.
I'll let you know how it goes. Why don't you give it a try, too? If I can survive for a day without my computer, I reckon almost anyone can!
